Love, Lust and Lost

She walked in like a whisper,
Fire wrapped in skin and grace
I was drawn to the danger,
Like the moon to her shadowed face

Every kiss was a gamble,
Every touch a thief in disguise
I gave her my soul without question,
Now I’m left with nothin’ but lies

It was love, it was lust,
It was everything I trusted
It was gold turned to dust,

And my heart? Yeah, she crushed it
Now I'm torn, and I’m tossed,
In the wreckage of what it cost
Three words I can’t outrun —
Love… lust… and lost.

She said, “Forever,” like a promise,
But meant it like a dare
I mistook her hunger
For someone who’d actually care

Now I’m talkin’ to my whiskey,
And it's givin’ me no reply
Only echoes of her laughter,
And a past I can’t deny

It was love, it was lust,
It was everything I trusted
It was gold turned to dust,

Some say love is salvation,
But it burned like revelation
She was the storm in my veins,
Now I’m drenched in pain

It was love, it was lust,
It was sweet 'til it busted
It was gold turned to rust,
And my faith? Yeah, she dusted

Now I'm torn, and I’m tossed,
In the wreckage of what it cost
Three ghosts that haunt me most —
Love… lust… and lost.
